Artist's statement, Karen Price
I have loved art as long as I can remember. I fell in love with painting about 22 years ago. Originally working with watercolour, I have explored and expanded my repertoire to include acrylics, mixed media and alcohol inks.
Art has been a great motivator for enriching my life. I have participated in many painting trips overseas as well as exploring local sources of subject matter. Variety is the spice of life and I am inspired by a vast range of subject matter. Travel, local landscapes, seascapes and architecture, flora and fauna, people, rusty old vehicles and still life all interest and intrigue me.
I am an active member of the Painting Maribyrnong and Art Tribe community painting groups. I also do voluntary craft work with the residents of a Moonee Valley nursing home and immerse myself in the local and manmade environment along the Maribyrnong River.
