ARTIST BIO

Alex is a Melbourne based artist, and psychology student. He is known for his unique style of capturing the beauty of Australian nature through vibrant colours, drawing from patterns in the environment. After studying visual Arts in 2007 and currently in the field of psychology Alex’s art comes from a place of the subconscious, each piece is significantly intentional and drawn from understanding his own emotional states.

He firmly believes that art must come from the right place, each canvas alluding that something is a part of all of us, something bigger, which invites viewers to bridge the gap to a world that is abstract, yet familiar. Out of the workshop, Alex will take any chance to be surrounded by earth's treasures and take appreciation from the smaller things in life, like the sun reflecting on shallow water.

Alex’s art can be summed up from a quote from his Grandfather:

“Art demands nothing. You never have to bring to art anything other than yourself.”
